12 Week Volunteer Programme
Been unemployed for a while and want to bridge that CV gap? Neurodiverse and unsure if you’re suited to an office environment? Then why not give us a try?

This placement is ideal for anyone who wants to develop workplace confidence, gain practical admin experience and contribute to the work of Autistic Nottingham in a meaningful way.
You’ll be give one short shift a week in which we will support you in understanding your rights in the workplace, expectations employers would have on you and give you the basic skills to carry out every day admin tasks.
Once the programme has ended, and you have met the attendance and engagement requirements, Autistic Nottingham can be used as a reference on future job applications.
Programme Structure
Week 1: Welcome and Induction
Getting to know Autistic Nottingham, the team, the placement structure and what support is available.
Week 2: GDPR
Learning about confidentiality, data protection and how to handle information safely and responsibly.
Week 3: Emails, Phones and Housekeeping
Building confidence with everyday admin tasks, including email communication, phone skills and general office organisation.
Week 4: Social Care Admin
Understanding basic admin tasks linked to social care services, record keeping and professional communication.
Week 5: Social Media Admin
Learning how social media supports our work, including simple content planning, scheduling and online communication.
Week 6: Midpoint Review
A chance to reflect on progress, celebrate strengths, talk through any support needs and prepare for the practical part of the placement.
Weeks 7–12: Supported Admin Practice
Putting learning into action through real admin tasks. Volunteers will be supported to practise the skills they have developed, build confidence and gain meaningful experience in a calm, inclusive environment.
