Seeking a Diagnosis?

At Autistic Nottingham we are not able to diagnose autism, but we do have some places to sign post you to.

Right to Choose Pathways

What is Right to Choose?

As an NHS Patient you have the “right to choose” (within reason) where you have your treatment/care and who provides it.  We know that seeking a diagnosis for autism through the NHS can take over two years, and that is why external organisations have been commissioned to provide assessments much faster.

Most of these options would be virtual, but some do offer in person. Below are a list of organisations that you can approach for an autism assessment. Each page should give you full details of how to access the Right to Choose Pathway.

NHS Nottinghamshire Healthcare have released some resources around “Right to Choose” and some considerations when choosing a provider. You can read about this here.

Please note that Autistic Nottingham does not have any formal affiliation with these organisations, we do not receive commissions or anything in return for providing this information, we also have no sway over their processes or waiting times. We are providing this information to support Autistic people in accessing faster assessments and support.
