Yes – you’re very welcome to bring someone with you, but we do need to follow a simple process to make sure everything is in place.

We understand that attending social events can feel daunting, and having a support worker, friend, or family member with you can make a big difference. You don’t need to be accompanied by an Autistic Nottingham staff member – anyone in your support network is welcome, provided they book correctly in advance.

Once you’ve purchased your own ticket, please email social@autisticnottingham.org to let us know you’d like someone to accompany you. We’ll then provide you with a 100% discount code that your support person can use to book their own free ticket through our system.

This ensures that:

  • We have their full details properly recorded

  • They receive the same event information as all attendees

  • Safeguarding and health and safety procedures are fully met

Please note: We must receive your email request at least 48 hours before the event. If this process isn’t followed in time, we may not be able to accommodate your support person on the day.

Yes, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.

We respect all individuals, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other aspect of their identity.

While we can’t guarantee that every participant will share these views, please rest assured that our outreach staff are dedicated to ensuring a safe and respectful space. Any form of hate or discrimination will not be tolerated.

As a small organisation funded through grants and donations, we’re not in a position to run events entirely for free. Each event involves real costs – including paying our staff (many of whom are also Autistic), hiring venues, and covering materials such as craft supplies or board games.

The small fee you pay helps us make our funding go further and contributes directly to running more social events and activities in the future.

This also applies to online events – while there’s no venue hire, we still have expenses such as our website, internet services, and platforms like Gather Town.

When you purchase a ticket, we collect your details as part of our booking system. This helps us know who is attending, so we can prepare properly, offer the right support if needed, and ensure everyone has a safe and positive experience.

Yes – we do offer refunds in most cases.

You can find our full Refunds and Returns Policy here, but in summary, we are happy to issue a refund as long as your request is received no later than 24 hours before the event.

If your request comes after that point, it will be at the discretion of our management team.

Refunds for tickets purchased through our website are processed promptly once we receive your email.

After we’ve actioned it, please allow 3–5 working days for the funds to appear in your account.

To request a refund, simply email social@autisticnottingham.org with your booking details.

Wellington House does not have any level access.

There are 3 steps from the car park into the building.

Once inside there should be no additional steps as the kitchen, toilets and meeting space are all ground floor.

If you require access support please email social@autisticnottingham.org

No. The car park at Wellington House is for another business and staff/visitors to Autistic Nottingham cannot use it. There is an ANPR Camera that will issue fines to those who do.

There is plenty of on road parking that can be paid for at the parking machine or via the “Ringo” App.

If you have a valid blue badge, on road parking is free without limit.

You can go to our Contact Us page to fill in a contact form, or email the social team: social@autisticnottingham.org and they would be happy to answer any of your questions.
